Process for creating a trade-in
Creating a trade-in through Phobio takes less than two minutes to complete:
1. First comes MODEL SELECTIONSelect the product type and enter the device IMEI or serial number, which Phobio uses to automatically detect the model. To display the IMEI, just dial star-pound-zero-six-pound (*#06#) on any smartphone.
You can also search By Model, and enter the model number or common name for the device.
If the device cannot be found, or if you're getting the wrong model displayed, contact our support agents through Live Chat for help.After the device model is identified, confirm the carrier and memory capacity.
Information and pricing for the selected model will then be displayed.
2. The second step is ASSESSING the CONDITIONEnsure the customer deactivates passwords and Device Locks, or the Apple Activation Lock for iOS devices. Answer the simple yes/no questions about the device’s physical and functional condition to get its guaranteed trade-in value.
3. Step three is to ENTER CUSTOMER INFO + PROMO CODEEnter the required customer information, and if you or the customer has a PROMO CODE for a valid promotion, simply enter it here and the promotional trade value will be applied. Be sure the customer agrees to the terms and conditions of the trade to continue.
These terms simply state that the customer owns the device, agrees to selling it, that it can not be returned, and that all data on it will be erased.
4. The next step? ERASE the DEVICEThe manual erasure or Factory Reset instructions for that device model will display. Proceed with the erasure and confirm it.
5. The fifth and final step is to STORE the DEVICE and PRINTOUTOnce the trade has been confirmed and completed, the trade-in value will be applied to the customer’s transaction.
The Sales Representative prints out the Packing Slip for the device, and stores the device with that printout for shipment to the Receiving Facility.
